In order to have an efficient heating system, your furnace needs regular maintenance checks. The regular furnace checks ensure that your costs stay low and that your furnace remains safe. Harris Air Systems recommends that you get a yearly inspection from a professional service technician and either replace or clean the furnace filters once a month. Harris Air Systems provides service and repair for all furnaces. Contact us today to be sure your furnace is running efficiently and safely.
What can furnace owners do to keep their furnace running smoothly?
1. Replace air filters: this prevents poor air circulation from the furnace into a room and prevents wear down of parts inside the furnace.
2. Inspect the burners: furnace burners play an important role in generating the heat that warms the air before it leaves the furnace. If the furnace burners do not work properly, the furnace will not work efficiently.
3. Lubricate the furnace system: a properly lubricated furnace system will decrease the amount of sound generated by the furnace and increase the life of the furnace. It will also help the furnace’s motor operation by decreasing the stress on its parts. Be careful not to over lubricate the furnace system though because that creates problems of its own.
4. Test for carbon monoxide: since a furnace can potentially blow carbon monoxide from one room to another, it’s best to check and make sure that your home or office is safe.
We can help!
1. Reattaching ductwork: loose ductwork results in the furnace not reaching some rooms causing a decrease in air circulation.
2. Fixing air locks: with hot water furnaces, air locks create blockages that will prevent the furnace from reaching some rooms while other rooms will contain excess heat.
3. Checking the operation of fans, pumps and burners: ensures that your furnace is working at its highest efficiency.
4. Cleaning of the exhaust pipe: prevents the clogging of the exhaust pipe which decreases the efficiency of the furnace and can cause damage to furnace parts.
